Woodsman Shirt Jacket in Charcoal Multi

Our pieces work great on their own, but are also great when layered together. The Woodsman Shirt Jacket is the epitome of this: it’s heavy enough to wear over a tee and head outside, but light enough that a coat can still fit over it without feeling too bulky. The piece is the evolution of one of the original Billy Reid styles: the Chickesaw. The body is also unlined, opening up the range of possibilities this jacket can work with.

    Great jacket with one exception

I was excited to see Billy Reid’s fall jacket lineup with more options that what all my other favorite designers are doing this year (waxed cotton or suede trucker jackets that fit like halter tops if you’re over 6 ft like me). I purchased this and one other jacket and fell in love both at first sight. Then I tried them on only to find out they both have nylon sleeve linings that sound like I’m wearing a bag of potato chips when I move. Not willing to give up on these, I immediately took them to a tailor to have the linings replaced. Cost me $75 per jacket, which is unfortunate but not the end of the world. If you’re willing to incur the extra hassle and cost, this jacket is worth it (or if you don’t mind hearing a loud crunch every time you move your arms ever so slightly). This jacket would have been 5 stars if they just went with no sleeve lining or any normal material.
